Around The Block Butcher Shop & Market is not your ordinary butcher shop. This whimsical and quirky space welcomes all who enters and keeps you lingering longer than usual because of the bubbly conversations that take place with owners, David and Chantel.

We wanted to emphasize the functionality of a larger space for ATB, as well as letting their personality come out in the finishes and the little details that pop up throughout the space. These little trinkets, like easter eggs, all hold family stories and memories which we incorporated into the design. From the chicken mosaic tile over the door, to a WWII meat token framed by the cash, we didn’t just design this space, we made it represent the true essence of what makes ATB the one stop shop for their customers, whom they greet by name.

The full tiled walls pull the original colour palette from their old store, literally around the block. With ATB’s minor rebrand with the added Market, we wanted to emphasize a fresh look and feel with the introduction of a fun wallpaper and pop of a complimentary colour that pulls you deeper in the space and keeps you curious of all the goodies you will find.

A butcher shop that invites and energizes. Each visit has you discovering something new, and it was an honour to be part of the neighbourhood in that way!
